“No Leniency, No Deals” — Victims Push for Justice Department Transparency on Epstein Case
WASHINGTON — Women who say they were abused by the late financier Jeffrey Epstein are pressing the Justice Department to release all criminal investigative files related to the case.
Their demands present a dilemma for President Donald Trump and Republican leaders in Congress, who once pushed for greater transparency on Epstein but now argue that full disclosure could further harm his victims.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told reporters that a vote to compel the Justice Department to release more records is unnecessary, noting that a House committee already made public 33,295 pages of subpoenaed documents on Sept. 2.
