Cup hero Kobel is in the spotlight, and he’s sharing his secret to mastering penalties.

Gregor Kobel was a true hero for Borussia Dortmund, stepping up time and again to save the team from being knocked out of the DFB Cup. His teammate couldn't help but sing his praises, but Kobel stayed humble about it all. He even admitted that he went into the penalty shootout with barely any preparation!

In the end, it was Gregor Kobel (27) who saved Borussia Dortmund from facing elimination in the second round of the DFB Cup for the second consecutive year. During the match against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Swiss national team goalkeeper stepped up to save the crucial penalty in the shootout, after already making several outstanding saves from long-range attempts throughout the game.

“We have a sensational goalkeeper,” Julian Brandt (29), who scored the equalizer, praised his teammate. However, the Zurich native admitted after the final whistle that he hadn’t really prepared for the penalty shootout and hadn’t analyzed Frankfurt’s penalty takers much: “I’m not sure how much that really matters.”
